John Titley is an award-winning screenwriter, producer and filmmaker based in Toronto, Canada.

After growing up getting straight-A’s as a good boy in snowy Winnipeg, Canada, John transferred out of law school and embraced his dark side to pursue a career in film and television, writing high-concept dramas and provocative crime thrillers that explore themes of ambition, greed and toxic masculinity. After cutting his teeth at Norman Jewison’s Canadian Film Centre in Toronto, John co-wrote a pair of short films that played festivals around the world. The story of misplaced pride and social class ANATOMY OF ASSISTANCE (Dir. Cory Bowles, Trailer Park Boys) made its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, and the mafia fairy tale of ambition and revenge COLD FEET screened at Fantasia Montreal and ScreamFest LA before selling to US-based broadcaster AMC-IFC.

John's professional career started with him using his limited legal expertise to write episodes of true crime television for networks like A&E, Hulu and Discovery, as well as original dramas and documentaries for CBC, Cineflix and Citytv. Today John is developing multiple projects about good people in dangerous situations including CHASING THE DARK, a one-hour crime drama based on the memoir of OPP Detective and Director of Intelligence Kate Lines with co-writer Diana Bentley and producer Courtney Hicks (Frantic Films), and the puppy-obsessed
thriller WILL SWIPE FOR DOGS with director Ian Bawa and producer Kyle Bornais (Farpoint Films).

John is a graduate of the Canadian Film Centre Writers' Lab, the National Screen Institute Totally Television program, the National Film Board’s Creation Lab and obtained his Bachelor of Arts with an Advanced Major in Film at the University of Manitoba.
